Halle, Knapp. ( 1904 ). Illustrated with 48 plates printed on colored stock mostly made to simulate the texture of leather, these tipped onto heavier stock, all loose in portfolio. 4to. Plates accompanied by 4 leaves of ads on darkened, brittle paper and 2 leaves comprising a prospectus of volume 2 and a review of volume 1. These are separated into protective plastic sleeves. The original portfolio has been professionally modified with a stiff paper chemise attached to the back board that holds the plates in place. The whole housed in a sturdy fold-over box with a tie. Two corners of the back sheets ( upon which the plates are tipped ) are restored...not affecting the plates at all. The original portfolio boards worn and the ads chipped about edges, brittle and browned. The plates are clean and fresh.
