Charles Dickens Autographed Letter, 16 December 1850.
1.5 page letter signed in FULL by Dickens, Sixteenth December 1850. 'Devonshire Terrace. Dear Sir I find that I Shall be so deluged and utterly swamped and cast away by letters of introduction during the time of the Great Exhibition if I remain in town that I must fly to save myself. Therefore I shall be glad to let my house for six months -- from May to October inclusive -- if I can get a good price for it. I should say that I ought to have 300 Pounds or it would be better shut up. Do you think you can let it for me? Faithfully yours Charles Dickens / William Phillips Esquire'. Letter folded once to make four sheets and has other pressed-out creases, but nice and bold.
