Folio, (10 1/2 by 15 inches), 256 pages. 48 color offset reproductions of stencil prints (Katazome) by Sadao Watanabe. Mustard cloth housed in a red cloth portfolio with paper label inside publisher's cardboard box with illustrated color label pasted down. Binding tight, seems unread; block, boards, and box all in very good condition.
Artist Sadeo Watanabe (1913-1996) combined traditional Japanese print-making techniques with Christian iconography, aiming to bring Christianity to Japan.
